Passion by Lauren Kate: Review

Okay, so on Tuesday I recieved my copy of Passion by Lauren Kate in the post, and as I tore it free from the packaging I was momentarily shocked to discover that the outside of the book was a startling shade of PURPLE! I didn't know what was going on. I mean come on, Purple! Why purple?
Anyway, back to the review. I adore this series, and this book totally sated my addiction I have towards it- well at least until Rapture comes out, which is the final book in the series. Eek!

"Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have chosen me. Forever."
Luce would die for Daniel. And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . . .
Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.
Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.
Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.

Review:
We get to experience this story equally through both Luce and Daniel's point of view, whereas in the previous two books we were experiencing the story through just Luce, with the exception of the epilogue and prologue.
Passion is a beautifully written book that has a very captivating story line, and although we don't see so much of the main characters that we normally do, it's still utterly delicious.
At the beginning we find out that someone new is coming after Luce, and even though we don't know who it is at first we do find out later at the end, which is when we are left with this major cliffhanger, but I won't go into detail.
Regretably we don't see much of Cam- which is a damn shame because he is wickedly gorgeous and hilarious- or any of the other angels/nephilim, but we do meet a new little character called Bill who appears to Luce in the 'shadow' as a smelly little goblin, and claims that he can help Luce with her journey.
We then get to find out how Luce and Daniel met in some of their previous lives, which at first was weird and kind of dull, but then it definitely improved when Bill joined in and kept dressing Luce up and literally helped her to 'blend' in.
Then whenever she leaves her life to go on to discover a new one, or as this case may be an old one, we always get to experience Daniel arriving just a bit too late, and how he feels about having to relive his memories over losing Luce again and again. It's kind of sad, and although I totally sympathise towards Luce about her being left in the dark the whole time, it makes me feel that she's kind of selfish and really immature about suddenly disappearing in the middle of an angelic war just because she feels the need to discover if it's really true love, as if it isn't obvious enough especially after everything Daniel has done to be with her and how he grieved for her. She soo doesn't deserve him.
Once again, back to Bill. His part in this story is so obvious, it's kind of disapointing really. I mean we know someone is meant to be trying to come after Luce, but we don't hear anything from him and then *POOF* this little magical goblin appears claiming he can help Luce, excep he always disappears when any angels are near, and then he tries to get Luce to kill her immortal soul. She obviously doesn't do it otherwise there'd be no follow up book, but how dumb can she be to buy that story? She almost did it, but decided if Daniel was strong enough to carry on then so was she.
I'm not going to say who evil little Bill actually is and what he does that is going to be majorly catastrophic, but it is going to be epic. *Squeals*
Also I just wanted to mention that although Cam's part in this story was like miniscule, I loved how we got a little back story to how he became the way he is and why. *Sighs* It's amazing, but I needed so much more of him and we totally didn't get enough.
I'm so looking forward to 2012 when Rapture should be released!
