Poem: Girls who read by Mark Grist

Sorry for the radio silence, everyone! Even though I love it, College still continues to be chaotic and leaves me with hardly any time for myself- and in this case, time to write posts but I'll try and make more time.

I'm currently studying poetry in my English lesson right now-and knowing how much I love to read, as we all do- my teacher decided to show me this one, even though it didn't relate to our lesson, just in case I liked it... and I did!! *winks*

Sorry to any guys out there who read this and feel a little left out...well then again it could be very enlightening for you!!

Girls who read by Mark Grist

“So, what do you go for in a girl?”
He crows, lifting a lager to his lips
Gestures where his mate sits
Downs his glass
“He prefers tits
I prefer ass.
What do you go for in a girl?”

I don’t feel comfortable
The air left the room a long time ago
All eyes are on me
Well, if you must know

I want a girl who reads
Yeah. Reads.
I’m not trying to call you a chauvinist
Cos I know you’re not alone in this
but…

I want a girl who reads
Who needs the written word
& uses the added vocabulary
She gleans from novels and poetry
To hold lively conversation
In a range of social situations

I want a girl who reads
Who’s heart bleeds at the words of Graham Greene
Or even Heat magazine
Who’ll tie back her hair while reading Jane Eyre
and goes cover to cover with each waterstones three for two offer
but I want a girl who doesn’t stop there

I want a girl who reads
Who feeds her addiction for fiction
With unusual poems and plays
That she hunts out in crooked bookshops for days and days and days
She’ll sit addicted at breakfast, soaking up the back of the cornflakes box
And the information she gets from what she reads makes her a total fox
Cos she’s interesting & unique
& her theories make me go weak at the knees

I want a girl who reads
A girl who’s eyes will analyse
The menu over dinner
Who’ll use what she learns to kick my ass in arguments
so she always ends the winner
But she’ll still be sweet and she’ll still be flirty
Cos she loves the classics and the classics are dirty
So late at night she’d always have me in a stupor
As she paraphrases the raunchier moments from the works of Jilly Cooper

See, some guys prefer asses
Some prefer tits
And I’m not saying that I don’t like those bits
But what’s more important
What supersedes
Is a girl a with passion, wit and dreams
So I’d like a girl who reads.

You can even watch a video off of YouTube that he made for this poem.
It's awesome, you'll love it!

Angels of the Dark: Book Three by Gena Showalter

As y'all should know, the Angels of the Dark books are a follow up series to the Lords of the Underworld books, written by the fabulous and talented Gena Showalter.
So far we've had two books on Zacharel and Koldo which is about them overcoming their troubles and finding love... *Sighs*

The next book is going to be Thane's story...

Now I'm going to be honest right now... I'm not sure I like Thane at the moment- hopefully his book will change that- it's just I really don't like womanizers, and the fact that he sleeps with different women everyday *Cringe*

Its gonna make him hard to love ... unless she's equally as bad

The book is set to be released around Feb 2014 and is called... drumroll please...

Divergent #3 title by Veronica Roth

I'm sure I'm not the only one who was at home waiting impatiently for this title to be released, with the hope that it would give us a slight clue as to what will happen in the final book.
Now all we have to do is wait until around October 22nd of this year for it so be released to us poor, desperate readers!!!

Well here is is:

Allegiant

Does anyone else know what this means? I didn't at first either, so I looked it up...

"Steadfast in devotion"

Did that help everyone out? Any clues as to what might happen? I think I'm more eager for it to come out now than I was before, who knew!! *Laughs*

House of Night 11 & 12 by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Is it possible that the next two books in the House of Night series already have titles?
I mean, its not all that surprising, Richelle Mead did the same with her Bloodlines series.
Anyway... I have the two titles here, not much is known about them yet but it wouldn't surprise me if the next book came out next year rather than this one, who knows.

Here they are, guys!
What do you think they could mean? *evil laughter*

REVEALED and REDEMPTION

Ooh... Stay tuned.

The Darkest Craving by Gena Showalter: Cover

Okay guys! We finally have the cover for the next books in Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series, The Darkest Craving. And I only have one word for all you out there... YUM!!
Gods, doesn't he look delicious... I just want to bare my teeth and rub myself all over him... *Coughs* Sorry about that, I'll try to control myself with the next book, but there's never any guarantee that I will.

New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter is back with a breathtaking Lords of the Underworld tale about a warrior trapped by darkness and the woman determined to save him

Having endured weeks of torture in the bowels of hell, Kane wants nothing to do with his beautiful rescuer, Josephina Aisling. The half-Fae female threatens to awaken the demon of Disaster inside him—a beast he’s determined to kill, no matter the price.

Josephina is hunted by a brutal enemy—her royal family—and Kane is her only source of protection. He’s also the only male to ever set her aflame, and even he succumbs to the heat. But as they navigate the treacherous world of the Fae, they are forced to make a choice: live apart…or die together.

*Sighs* Isn't he delish? Enjoy him ladies because we have until Late Summer to read all about him, plus there's nothing wrong with appreciating the male physique ;)

Goddess by Josephine Angelini

So Christmas and New Years has come and gone, and the only thing we have left to look forward to is the release of Goddess by Josephine Angelini, and we only have 5 or 6 months to go- well depending on where you live, because I know us peeps in the UK have to wait till June- sucks to be us right now. *Sighs*
Moving swiftly on- here's the covers and the description- to keep those hunger pangs at bay.

Now, we have a choice to make, which cover and description do you all prefer... the US or the UK... the clock is ticking. *laughs*

 US
Goddess (Starcrossed, #3)After accidentally unleashing the gods from their captivity on Olympus, Helen must find a way to re-imprison them without starting a devastating war. But the gods are angry, and their thirst for blood already has a body count.
To make matters worse, the Oracle reveals that a diabolical Tyrant is lurking among them, which drives a wedge between the once-solid group of friends. As the gods use the Scions against one another, Lucas’s life hangs in the balance. Still unsure whether she loves him or Orion, Helen is forced to make a terrifying decision, for war is coming to her shores.
In Josephine Angelini’s compelling conclusion to the masterfully woven Starcrossed trilogy, a goddess must rise above it all to change a destiny that’s been written in the stars. With worlds built just as fast as they crumble, love and war collide in an all-out battle that will leave no question unanswered and no heart untouched.
